- Wakarusa set its 2007 dates: June 7-10th, 2007 (in Lawrence KS) – photo by tyler >
It’ll be interesting to see if they stick with the jammier set, or make inroads into Indie rock territory, as Langerado and Bonnaroo have tended to do in recent years. Speaking of Bonnaroo..
- Bonnaroo also laid down its 2007 dates: June 14 – 17, 2007 (in Manchester, TN)
For fans confident that the festival and line-up will live up to its reputation, early-bird tickets go on sale Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 10:00 AM (ET?)….but that’s before any artists have been announced. We’ll see what tricks the SuperFly folks have up their sleeves this year. Will they continue the festival’s more mainstream trend or head back to the hippie/jammy roots?
- 10K Lakes Festival announced its initial line-up.
As usual, lots of stalwarts of the jammier variety:
Bob Weir & RatDog
Trey Anastasio
Gov’t Mule
Umphrey’s McGee
moe.
Little Feat
Derek Trucks Band
Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk
Trampled By Turtles
WookieFoot
Everyone Orchestra
…with another 50 odd bands yet TBA
As much as this type of line-up bores me with its focus on jam-rock and blues/funk, it would still be damn fun to see some sort of ultimate guitar wank-fest with the likes of Trey, Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, and maybe some of the Umphrey’s or moe. guys. Also, kudos to Wookiefoot for the tongue-in-cheek dig on the hippy lingo…that name just cracks me up.
And just in case you missed it:
- Coachella expanded to a 3-day festival and added a country-tinged festival
- Langerado‘s line-up and late-night shows are set. This one is gearing up to be a great spring festival.
